In are Ecology and Design class we touched on the idea of green buildings and products and I think alot of what was said in that class relates to natural and Human systems and the idea of us being interconnected with machines. What is interesting about green design is that it does connect the two, human systems, and natural systems together in a way that benifits the planet. Machines are used in solar panels wind generaters and green roofs for example. with out machines and the techology to create we could never build more sustainable buildings that are just as eye catching as any great architecture. Just look at the Mountian equipment co-op, or the new hydro building (the only two LEED gold certified buildings in Manitoba) without the machines and techology to back them up the architects would be going back to designing grass huts in order to design green.
